£80 Trial Offer (Cert.TM or Diploma)
Given the bewildering range of TEFL/TESOL distance courses available everyone, understandably, is cautious when it comes to selecting a free-standing distance-training course from the many on offer. One or two perhaps provide good professional courses, some are adequate, if not very substantial, others are reasonably sound but provide rather short, basic programmes; yet these often lead to a so-called 'Diploma'. If by 'diploma' all you seek is a piece of paper calling itself a diploma – fine! If however you are looking for a course leading to a diploma with real professional standing or, for example, one that may later lead to the completion of a master's level qualification in TESOL, then choose very carefully.
Choose wisely
Whether a diploma or certificate course - caution should be exercised. How can you be sure your certificate will be accepted by employers and academia? Some distance providers operate only through accommodation addresses often with no telephone contact available. In many cases the price, coupled with the need to do very little in order to obtain a 'certificate', is the only attractive aspect. Most accredit themselves; some claim external accreditation which is often very difficult to verify even when prospective clients write seeking confirmation or additional information. If you have any doubts about the various courses advertised, ask the training provider concerned to let you purchase a sample section of their course. This is standard procedure for reputable distance institutions. Those offering rather basic minimal programmes, yet often described as diplomas, or those with very elementary materials may not, of course, be keen to provide you with samples. Don't hesitate to write, fax, telephone or e-mail the provider concerned. In writing to them you will be able to judge quite a lot from their letterhead, and from their response to your specific questions.
The proof of the pudding
If you know someone who has completed, or is following, a Eurolink programme there is of course no problem since their satisfaction and recommendation is usually more than sufficient to dispel any possible concerns you may have. What however if you have no information other than that provided on this website? There's nothing like 'the proof of the pudding', therefore, Eurolink is happy to provide a 'hands on', sampler trial offer.
Course Fees
Pay now for the first part of the course and continue only if you are totally satisfied! With your agreement we will then send you an invoice for the balance of the course fees. We simply deduct the £80 already paid from the total course fees and you pay Eurolink Courses either the balance in full taking advantage of a generous discount or pay the balance by instalments. See course fees.
The Eurolink Sampler comprises:
A copy of the relevant Course Handbook divided into twenty sections and includes full details of the course postal packs; course aims, general objectives, course units and modules; Essay assignment titles and topics; Practical project assignments; End of course 'Take-away' Assessment details; Programme of Assessment; Marking Scheme; Weighing; Selective Bibliographies, Glossary of Useful Terms and advice on obtaining a teaching post.
The first three course postal packs including the initial three compact discs.
Loan copy of the initial set book: Linguistics by Jean Aitchison published by Hodder and Stoughton.
These initial packs include perhaps the most challenging study task of the course. This is quite deliberate; for having completed the foundation element in these initial packs participants will know that the course thereafter will prove relatively simple and straightforward though nevertheless very thorough.
