TESOL courses
Which course is right for you?
The answer depends on what you plan to do with your qualification. If you're looking to "test the water", so to speak, you should be looking at a level 1 or level 2 course, which will give you the confidence to step into a classroom armed with a sound teaching qualification.

Overview of each course
Preliminary Certificate of Educational Studies in TESOL - and College of Teachers COES(TESOL)
This is a 70-hour course for anyone seeking an introduction to the world of TESOL and, as the name implies, is intended as a course of educational studies. Even though it covers far more ground than many certificate distance programmes on offer elsewhere, some schools and teaching institutions would not necessarily consider it a formal teaching qualification. It is however an excellent qualification for gap-year teaching posts.

These qualifications will certainly enable you to obtain teaching posts in Europe and across the world but the programme does not include any teaching practice which well-established and discriminating employers will look for. The distance programme is a substantial one requiring 250 hours of home-study to complete.
